Just to satisfy you
Between this image and listening to Marvin Gaye's JustToSatisfyYou, it's so bittersweet. Looking down at my shadow as Marvin sings, "It's time to say farewell..."
Transitioning into 41 is more than a solar return for me. It's letting go and stepping into someone I haven't met, but I know so much about her. I'm excited to meet her.
The irony of missing the shadow self that kept me limited in my worries and insecurities. It's who I knew for 40yrs, so it's all I knew.
However, I can't live in the comforts of familiarity. I appreciate everything the shadow has taught me, but comfort is no longer fulfilling. And where the unknown does frighten me, I feel secure, protected, and safe.
Letting go is hard to do, but I stayed just to satisfy you.
